We believe that being green is about doing more with less. It means being conscious at all levels of production – including in the initial stages – about using less harmful and more sustainable raw materials as inputs in the making of everyday products. Striving for increased energy and water efficiency and increased recycling are also keys to creating a greener product. None of these alone is going to be a game-changer, however. Only collective and collaborated actions will move us closer to a greener, more sustainable environment.

A green tech business can mean creating greener products, processes or services. And when it comes to creating greener approaches and innovations for business, there are three governing principles. First, for companies to be successful, their renewable, green replacements have to be at least as successful as existing alternatives. Second, they also have to be competitively priced. Thirdly, and most importantly, these products need to be non-disruptive; you cannot oblige the manufacturer to make modifications to their existing processes, particularly if the manufacturer sees these modifications as potentially cost-prohibitive.
